The Local News Initiative began months before I joined and the initial cohort's work was to conduct broad user research to develop "media mentalities" that would illustrate the user landscape.
My cohort divided up into teams and took this research further in a more honed and focused approach that is directly connected to developing concepts and ideation. After three months of user research and basic concept testing we took the next three months to further hone in on one idea. We developed that one idea through series of prototyping and user testing with the goal of working towards a final prototype that we would pass on to the following cohort to further develop into an minimum viable product (MVP). Below is our final presentation that encapsulates our work and findings.
