This is an article about the controversy surrounding the Dalai Lama's succession, co-designed and co-written with project partner, Brooke Yalof. The assignment was to create a story about an issue related to religion using the visually driven magazine alternative story style. We faced limited photographic resources, both stemming from copyright issues and an inherent lack due to the disappearance of one of the subjects of the story. Despite this, we used this to our advantage and creatively utilized and manipulated generic imagery to illustrate the drama and mystery of the future of Tibet's top spiritual and political figures.
